The People’s Democratic Party (PDP), the nation’s main opposition party, has urged its leaders and supporters to make sacrifices in order to maintain the party’s prominence.

At the conclusion of its meeting yesterday, the State Executive Committee, or SEC, of the party in Cross River State made the call.

In their statement, they also called on all members to take into account a range of viewpoints, passions, and goals in their efforts to choose trustworthy leaders to lead the party’s operations at the upcoming South-South Zonal Congresses.

According to them, the congresses would be a defining feature of the party’s success in the South-South region.

Hon. Denis Nkiri, the interim State Chairman, signed the communiqué with 31 members of the State Executive Committee, SEC.

They stated that in the next 2025 Zonal Congresses, the leadership of the Cross River PDP will support the opinions and choices made by the South-South Governors’ Forum.

Any alleged zonal congresses planned for Calabar are categorically rejected by the party’s SEC, which disassociates itself from them.
