PDP Zonal Congress: Wike willing tool by Tinubu – Paul Ibe opens deep secret

Former PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar’s media aide, Paul Ibe, insisted on Wednesday that Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), was engaged in anti-party activities.

Ibe insisted that the administration of President Bola Tinubu was using Wike as a willing instrument to dismantle the PDP.

He was responding to the PDP’s letter about the recently held South-South Zonal Congress that was sent to the Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC.

Ibe stated that the letter confirmed Wike and his associates were working against the PDP and that there was a planned crisis-making scheme.

Posting on X, Ibe wrote: ”It is no longer news that Wike is engaging in anti-party activities; that he is a willing tool used by Tinubu’s APC administration to destroy the @OfficialPDPNig and other opposition parties.

“This letter from the PDP to the @inecnigeria is a confirmation that the actions of Wike and his cohorts regarding the party’s South-South Zonal Congress are contrary to the position of the PDP.

“It is a deliberate ploy to create a crisis to serve the interest of his paymaster.”

The planned zonal congress was postponed because of practical limitations, the PDP said in a letter dated February 20, 2025, to the INEC Chairman.

The PDP’s acting chairman, Umar Damagum, and secretary, Sunday Ude-Okoye, signed the letter, which stated that the commission would be properly informed and that a new date and location would be announced.

Wike and his team proceeded with the South-South Zonal Congress in spite of this letter, and Mr. Donald Duke, the former governor of Cross River State, was present.

Chief Dan Orbih, the PDP’s vice chairman for the South-South Zonal, was re-elected during the congress.
