Peter Obi speaks on his plans to leave Labour Party

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP) in the general elections of 2023, has denied reports that he may soon leave the party and instead reiterated his loyalty to the organisation.

Obi declared that he has no plans to leave anytime soon despite the internal crisis rocking the party.

Additionally, he declared that he has always been eager to become president of Nigeria.

Shortly after, he turned on a hand pump for water delivery in the Sabon Layi neighbourhood, a suburb of Bauchi City, and answered questions from journalists on Sunday.

Obi said, “I am not thinking of 2027; my concern for now is how to improve the living standards and conditions of Nigerians.

“Nobody should be talking about politics now, the focus should be on good governance that will make Nigeria better.”

The former governor of Anambra stated, “The leader ship crisis in the LP at this time is not abnormal; rather, it is an internal issue that will be resolved amicably as a family,” in reference to the internal conflict that is rocking the opposition party.

“I have never thought of leaving the LP; I only advocated for peace because I am a man who believes in peace, I am a man who believes in unity, I am a man who believes that we are the same.

“I don’t see any difference between you and me; by the grace of God, I always want to do the right thing.

“That is the reason I came here personally, I would have asked someone to represent me, no, I didn’t.”
