A guy named Sholola Kazeem was taken into custody by Owode Egba Police Division agents after he allegedly stabbed his wife in the head and poured boiling oil on her during a fight in Ogun State.

ZINGTIE discovered that the suspect committed the heinous act at their home in the Ring Road neighbourhood of the state’s Owode Egba Local Government Area while in a rage.

At around 12:20 p.m. on Saturday, community members reported the incident, according to police spokeswoman Omolola Odutola, who talked to ZINGTIE.

The Divisional Police Officer in Owode Egba acted quickly after learning of the information, went to the scene, and got the culprit  arrested.

Odutola said: “On 18 January 2025, at about 12:20 hours, the Divisional Police Officer received a report from members of the Ring Road community regarding an incident involving Sholola Kazeem, a male resident, and his wife, Sholola Mutiat, who reside at the same address.

“It was reported that Sholola Kazeem, in an uncontrollable fit of anger over a misunderstanding, poured hot oil over his wife’s body and also stabbed her in the head.”

The victim was sent to Ore Ofe Hospital for a medical assessment, according to Odutola.

The crime scene was inspected, she continued, and an investigation is still underway to learn all the specifics of what happened.
