As a two-day shooting range exercise for recruits gets underway on Tuesday, the Kaduna State Police Command has warned citizens to avoid specific locations in the city.

The drill was to take place at the Amanan Kasuwa Shooting Range Ground along Mararaban Jos – Panbegua Road in Igabi Local Government Area, according to a public statement issued by DSP Mansir Hassan, the State Police Public Relations Officer.

He assured commuters and locals that sufficient safety precautions had been implemented and advised them to stay away from the area during the training.

“The public should not be alarmed by the sounds of gunfire during the exercise. The command has ensured strict safety protocols,” Hassan stated.

The goal of the training, he continued, is to improve police officers’ operational preparedness for upcoming security threats.
