Francis Nwifuru, the governor of Ebonyi State, states that because politics is not enmity, he attended an event hosted by the state’s Labour Party, LP legislator.
During an empowerment session hosted by Nkemkanma Kama, the representative for the Ohaoazara/Onicha/Ivo Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Nwifuru made this statement on Monday in Ishiagu, Ivo Local Government Area.
He claimed that the reason he went to the event was because politics ought to be about working together for the benefit of the nation and state as a whole.
“Kama is supposed to be my enemy as he belongs to another party but he has turned out to be my friend.
“After election comes governance. That is why I came with leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the state, including its chairman,” he said.
The governor went on to say that by connecting with his administration, Kama had also embraced this worldview.
Speaking, Kama expressed gratitude to the governor and all state leaders present, stating that Nwifuru views him as a friend and brother.
“I also thank the leadership of the House of Representatives and stakeholders of the constituency as their selflessness and commitment testify to the communal spirit in us,” he said.
