Poor electricity supply hits Southeast as EEDC exonerates self

Poor energy supply hits portions of the southeast as the Enugu Energy Distribution Company, EEDC, claims the problem is beyond the organization.

In a Monday statement, Emeka Ezeh, the EEDC’s Head of Corporate Communications, revealed this.

The situation has led to a decrease in power availability, which the firm attributed to poor energy generation.

He claims that the development has led to low generation, which has affected the amount of energy allotted to distribution businesses countrywide in terms of megawatt hours and MWH, ultimately affecting the quality of service provided to its clients.

“We understand the inconveniences this situation has caused our esteemed customers and appeal for their understanding as it is beyond us,” Ezeh appealed.

“We can only distribute what is allocated to us.”

ZINGTIE recalls that the decrease in the country’s electricity supply was attributed by Adebayo Adelabu, the Minister of Power, to debt and gas shortages.

Consequently, a committee was established to address the nationwide decline in electricity supplies.
