Premier League clubs vote on scrapping VAR

On Thursday, Premier League teams will cast their votes on whether to keep using the Video Assistant Referee, VAR.

The clubs will get together for their yearly general meeting.

Wolves, who have been defeated several times, are the team leading the vote.

Many well-known VAR errors occurred in the 2023–2024 season, one of which was the refusal to give Liverpool credit for a goal that was clearly onside during their loss to Tottenham.

Since its introduction before the 2019–2020 season, VAR has divided opinion.

For the proposition to be altered, 14 of the 20 clubs must vote in favor of it.

However, the UK Mirror claims that with VAR continuing, Wolves would never come close to meeting the necessary number.
