A vote of no confidence in President Bola Tinubu’s administration was passed by Sunny Moniedafe, a former candidate for Deputy National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), North, who claimed that the president had not performed effectively.

This came as he voiced grave concerns about the internal politics of the party, implying that the ruling party might be on the verge of disintegrating.

When he appeared on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily program on Tuesday, Moniedafe made this claim.

In response to recent calls by former members of the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP) for President Tinubu to guarantee that the vice-presidential slot stays in their bloc before the general elections in 2027, the APC chieftain offered his thoughts.

“I don’t blame them. They have a point. Everyone wants to protect their interests. I think we are heading for the rocks. And I’m sorry to say this, President Tinubu is not doing well,” he said.

The founding party blocs—ANPP, CPC, and ACN—remain relevant inside the APC’s internal structure, he said, adding that party stakeholders ought to be actively defending the administration’s policies, but many choose to remain mute or ignorant.

He questioned the President’s early push for a second term and said the President ought to have called a forum of elders to act as the party’s conscience.

He criticized Tinubu’s tone during the appointment of Vice President Kashim Shettima and voiced his amazement over policy decisions including the elimination of gasoline subsidies.
