Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have made a private donation to a teen charity in Los Angeles, supporting those affected by the recent wildfires. The donation was made through their Archewell Foundation.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex visited an evacuation center and food bank in Pasadena, with Meghan also volunteering at the Altadena Teen Girls Fire Recovery charity’s warehouse. The charity, founded by 14-year-old Avery Colvert, collects beauty and personal supplies for young girls affected by the fires.

Avery’s charity took to Instagram to thank Harry and Meghan, saying: “A special thanks to The Archewell Foundation for your support!”

Despite facing criticism from some, including actress Justine Bateman, who labeled them “disaster tourists,” the couple’s efforts have been widely appreciated.

Meghan visited the charity’s warehouse on Monday, carrying clothes and beauty products and engaging with families and girls. In a video shared by the charity, Meghan could be seen speaking to a girl and carrying big bags.

The video was captioned: “And thank you to everyone who showed up on Monday, which was such a special day! We love you!” A representative of the charity commented, “Even just meeting her is life-changing! Having her support is unreal.”

Last week, Harry and Meghan released a statement urging people to support those affected by the wildfires, including opening their homes to evacuees and checking in on vulnerable neighbors. The couple has also donated supplies, including clothing and children’s items, and invited friends and loved ones into their home.
