Prison service discloses which cell ward Bobrisky will be held

Idris Okuneye, a popular cross-dresser and prisoner, will serve his six-month sentence in the facility’s male section, the Nigerian Correctional Services, NCoS, has disclosed.

Bobrisky was sentenced to six months imprisonment for naira mutilation on Friday by Justice Abimbola Awogboro of the Lagos Division of the Federal High Court.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, charged Bobrisky before Justice Awogboro.

Bobrisky was sentenced to six months in prison without the option of a fine for animal mutilation, according to ZINGTIE.

Before the judge delivered the sentence, Bobrisky’s sexual orientation was questioned.

I am a man,” he curtly answered.

The judge ruled that the sentence would begin on March 24, 2024, the day of his arrest, and sentenced him to serve his jail term at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre.

It was vital, according to Justice Abimbola Awogboro, to deter others from engaging in similar acts of abuse and naira mutilation.

ZINGTIE recalls that Bobrisky was convicted on April 5 after pleading guilty to a four-count charge of Naira abuse brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, or EFCC.

“Since he admitted to being a male in court, then we have to abide by what was submitted in court,” the NCoS spokesperson stated.
