Recruitment for customs: More than 573,000 candidates compete for 3,927 positions

A week after activating the portal, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) announced Tuesday that it has received 573,519 applications for 3,927 employment posts in its 2024–2025 recruitment exercise.

Abdullahi Maiwada, the NCS National Public Relations Officer (PRO), gave an update on the procedure, stating that 573,519 people have applied for the 3,927 available spots.
“I would like to analyze the quantity of applicants,” he said. Our officers fall into two categories: general duty cops and professional support workers.

According to Maiwada, “For the customs assistant cadre, these are applicants expected to apply with secondary school certificates. There are two categories: those who have a minimum of five credits, including Mathematics and English, and those without Mathematics and English.” There are 153,593 applications for general duty and 14,400 applications for support staff.
