After allegedly paying his way out of jail, a man wanted for the horrific 2023 murder of his girlfriend, Augusta, has apparently escaped punishment and is now living a lavish lifestyle in Qatar.

Augusta, Benjamin Killaboi’s girlfriend, was tragically killed in a violent confrontation with him. Previously, he was known as Benjamin Best Nnanyereugo. He stabbed Augusta to death, then concealed her body in his house while using her cell phone to send false messages to her relatives while feigning she was still alive.

Following a police manhunt, Benjamin left Nigeria and went to Sierra Leone, where he allegedly paid $25,000 for a new passport and assumed the identity of Kanu Princeton.

Benjamin was later turned over to Nigerian officials, even though Augusta’s brother Heze had found him and had him detained in Sierra Leone in October 2023.

However, Benjamin was able to avoid the law once more by bribing his way out of police detention in Nigeria. He quickly left the nation and has been residing in Qatar, where he publicly displays his money and opulent lifestyle on social media, leaving those who are fighting for Augusta’s justice devastated and furious.

Many have called for more efforts to guarantee that fugitives are brought to justice regardless of their location or financial means, as this case has sparked worries about the difficulties in holding people accountable for major crimes.
