Sim Fubara, the suspended governor of Rivers State, has paid another visit to Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

According to reliable information obtained by ZINGTIE, Fubara and Wike met Monday at his Abuja home.

An source who asked not to be named told ZINGTIE this while ignoring a picture of Fubara and Wike that went viral.

The source said: “The photograph is an old image, but I can inform you that he (Fubara) came to see the Minister this week Monday.”

It is thought that the meeting is a part of Fubara’s attempt to mend fences with Wike and other pertinent Rivers State stakeholders.

Shortly after taking office as governor of Rivers State in 2023, Fubara stumbled into dark waters.

He and his predecessor, Wike, became at odds over who should manage Rivers State’s political resources.

The battle had escalated to the State House of Assembly, causing the state’s legislative branch to become divided.

President Bola Tinubu imposed a six-month suspension on Fubara on March 18, 2025, and proclaimed a state of emergency in Rivers that would extend for that duration.

Niger Delta insurgents had threatened to attack oil infrastructure in the state, so Tinubu suspended Fubara and nominated Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas as a Sole Administrator to keep the political crisis from turning into a full-scale security problem.

In an attempt to mend fences, Fubara visited with Wike and President Tinubu in Lagos State and London during his suspension.

Wike had offered to make amends by claiming that Fubara was his son in light of their meeting. In an attempt to completely address the situation, he also cautioned the beleaguered governor to meet with other Rivers State political stakeholders.

As his suspension approaches the third month, there have been no reports of Fubara engaging with any state stakeholders.
