Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, who represents Kogi Central, has announced plans to return to the Senate on Tuesday, in accordance with a court ruling.
Her declaration comes in the wake of an appeal by Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
According to reports gathered, the senator revealed that she had formally notified the Senate of her planned resumption through a written letter.
“I have pretty much two months more before the six months expire. However, I have written to the Senate again telling them that I’m resuming on the 22nd, which is on Tuesday, by the special grace of God,” she said.
“I will be there, because the court did make the decision on that. Now, they argue that it’s an order. It’s not an order; it is a decision.”
Akpoti-Uduaghan explained that the suspension had significantly affected her legislative work, particularly her ability to introduce bills and raise motions during plenary sessions.
