According to Iran, ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz must adhere to its security regulations and coordinate their transit with the appropriate authorities.
The Islamic Republic announced its mission to the United Nations late Tuesday, stating that it is relaxing restrictions on transit through the Strait of Hormuz.
It was noted that vessels not considered hostile and not aiding military actions against Tehran are allowed to pass.
The Strait of Hormuz has turned into a focal point in the ongoing US-Israeli conflict involving Iran.
In the meantime, Iran has launched multiple assaults on ships within the waterway, thereby effectively shutting down a crucial shipping route for worldwide oil and gas supplies.
The narrow strait separating Iran and Oman is the sole connection between the Gulf and the global oceans, it was reported.
The passage is considered one of the most significant shipping routes worldwide, with approximately 20 percent of the global oil supply typically flowing through it.
