Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf conveyed his appreciation for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bravery in defying outside demands to interfere with the Supreme Court’s ruling regarding the governorship contests.

The governor of Kano expressed gratitude to Senator Kashim Shattima and Tinubu, his deputy, for standing their ground in the face of strong opposition.

Regarding the accusations made against former Governor Abdullahi Ganduje of attempting to use the Presidency to sway the Supreme Court’s ruling in favor of APC candidate for governor, Yusuf Gawuna, Governor Yusuf stressed Tinubu and Shettima’s resolute denials as evidence that Nigeria is genuinely well-run.

“The Governor noted with pleasure how President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his Deputy, Kashim Shettima, didn’t interfere in the apex court judgment despite stiff pressure from disgruntled quarters,” part of the statement issued by Yusuf’s aide said.

Remember, after their triumph at the Court of Appeals, Ganduje and his group claimed they would still defeat Yusuf and the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) at the Supreme Court. Nevertheless, the ultimate ruling from yesterday went against them.
