According to information obtained by ZINGTIE, Bright was abducted on Friday night in Ibusa, Delta State’s Oshimili North Local Government Area.
Around 9 p.m. on Sunday, the victim was freed.
In a message to our correspondent in Warri, human rights campaigner Comrade Harrison Gwamnishu, coordinator of the Safe City Project, confirmed the victim’s release.
According to Gwamnishu, “This evening, at approximately 9:00 pm, I witnessed his release after N5,000,000 and other items were delivered to the kidnappers.
“The victim reported that his abductors were all Fulani and are still at large in the bush.”
The government and the security agencies were alerted by Gwamnishu to the concerning number of kidnappings that were reportedly committed by suspected Fulani armed kidnappers posing as herdsmen.
Additionally, he stated that CP Olufemi Abaniwonda and the Delta State Police Command were working to resolve the issue.
