Suspected Lakurawa members kill 15 in Sokoto

Suspected members of the Lakurawa gang have allegedly killed around 15 individuals during an attack on Kwallajiya village in Tangaza Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The assault reportedly took place on Wednesday afternoon when the armed group stormed the village and launched a deadly attack.

Sources revealed that all the victims were laid to rest later that same evening in accordance with Islamic traditions.

A local resident voiced serious concern over the ongoing violence in the area, blaming the frequent attacks on informants within the community who allegedly provide intelligence to the assailants.

He added, “It is very important that the people in the affected villages intensify efforts to cooperate with security agencies in order to curb the activities of the evil men in their areas.”

Efforts to reach the state police spokesperson, DSP Ahmed Rufai, for comments were unsuccessful.
