Teacher sentenced to life imprisonment for defiling 3-year-old baby

Chukwunonso Okafor, a 25-year-old teacher, was given a life sentence by an Ikeja Sexual Offenses and Domestic Violence Court on Wednesday for defiling a three-year-old child.

After ruling that the prosecution had successfully proven the three-count accusation of sexual assault by penetration, defilement, and indecent treatment of a child against Okafor, Justice Abiola Soladoye found him guilty and sentenced him to life in prison.

According to Soladoye, the survivor recognized the convicted man as the one who sucked her breast and entered her vagina during her court testimony.

She said that because the survivor provided strong proof of the convict’s sexual assault of her, her testimony was supported.

She claimed that the prisoner’s attempts to disassociate himself from the offenses were all unsuccessful, and the convict was a pathological liar.

“You descended so low by having oral sex with a three-year-old baby. You are everything a teacher should not be, and you are barbaric. Upon all the evidence adduced before this court, I hereby convict you on all the three-count charges.

“You are hereby sentenced to life imprisonment on count one, life imprisonment on count two and seven years’ jail term on count three,” the judge said.

However, the judge stated that the convicted person would be identified as a sexual offender and that the sentencing would be administered simultaneously.

The defendant committed the offenses at Ajao Adedokun Street in Ikotun, Lagos, sometime in December 2022, according to the state attorney, Mrs. Ibukun Ibikunle.

Ibikunle argued that the minor was sexually attacked by the convicted felon, who inserted his penis in her mouth and made her engage in oral sex with him.

Additionally, the prosecutor informed the court that the convicted felon sucked the minor’s breasts and flogged her.

Sections 135, 137, and 261 of the Lagos State 2015 Criminal Laws are violated, the prosecution claims.
