The Commanding Officer confessed to me that White men was among the Boko Harams who attacked them – Gimba

Hon. Zainab Gimba told a startling testimony during a sobering debate about the nation’s growing insecurity in the Nigerian National Assembly. She discussed a recent Boko Haram attack in her district that killed more than 20 soldiers at a Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF) military installation.

Gimba clarified that the commanding officer provided some concerning information when she visited the base following the incident. Only six of the approximately 100 soldiers who were supposed to be stationed there were Nigerians. Nigeria should have more soldiers representing the nation in such a crucial security operation, she said, expressing concern.

According to her, the officer informed her that this was not the base’s first attack. But the March 24 attack was different. It was more sophisticated and vicious. She was informed by the officer that the use of drones by Boko Haram terrorists during the assault increased the danger of the attack.

But what was even more startling was what the officer stated next. He said that white guys made up a portion of the Boko Haram fighters that carried out the attack.

“The insurgents came to that formation and attacked the formation with drones, and he told me, he confessed that even within the Boko Harams that came, there have been several white men within them,” he said.

This raises concerns about outside influence on Nigeria’s ongoing security issues since it implies that foreigners may be assisting or fighting alongside Boko Haram. She urged swift action to bolster Nigeria’s regional security posture.
