President Bola Tinubu has embarked on a diplomatic trip that includes visits to Japan and Brazil, with a scheduled brief stopover in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The journey follows an official invitation from Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva.

According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Tinubu is expected to participate in the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9), taking place in Yokohama, Japan, from August 20 to 22.

Themed “Co-create Innovative Solutions with Africa,” the summit aims to promote economic transformation across the African continent by encouraging private sector-led growth, improving the business climate, and fostering sustainable development through innovation.

Following the conference in Japan, President Tinubu will proceed to Brazil for a state visit to the capital, Brasília, from August 24 to 25, at the invitation of President Lula.

During his stay in Brazil, Tinubu will hold bilateral discussions with his counterpart, engage in a business forum alongside Brazilian investors, and oversee the signing of several bilateral agreements and memoranda of understanding designed to enhance cooperation between both nations.

The President will be accompanied by a delegation of top government officials and ministers, who will also participate in high-level meetings aimed at strengthening Nigeria-Brazil ties across various sectors.
