Nasir El-Rufai, the former governor of Kaduna state, claimed on Tuesday on his official X account that Goodluck Ebele Jonathan’s anti-North stance was the reason he lost the 2015 presidential election.

While asking President Bola Ahmed Tinubu not to have a bad attitude toward the North, Nasir El-Rufai made the remark.

According to the former governor of Kaduna state, the All Progressive Congress, or APC, could become more like the People’s Democratic Party given the current state of affairs.

He suggested that the President warn his devoted followers and certain APC leaders against playing with the North. He said the region should be taken seriously if there is going to be any hope of reelection.

According to Nasir El-Rufai; “May I remind some persons that, more than the performance or lack thereof of the President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan administration, it was his attitude, and that of people around him, towards the North that ultimately brought him down and by extension the PDP that had boasted that it would rule Nigeria for 60 years”.
