Tinubu officially receives Anyim into APC

President Bola Tinubu has formally welcomed former Senate President Anyim Pius Anyim into the All Progressives Congress, or APC, family.

ZINGTIE notes that Anyim recently left the People’s Democratic Party, or PDP, after serving as Secretary to the Government of the Federation, or SGF, under President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration.

Hope Uzodinma, the governor of Imo State, and Francis Nwifuru, the governor of Ebonyi State, presented Senator Anyim to President Tinubu at the presidential villa in Abuja.

In March 2023, Senator Anyim signalled that his days in the main opposition were over when he told his supporters in his home state of Ebonyi to vote for Nwifuru, who was then the APC’s candidate for governor.

After the meeting with the President, Anyim told reporters that he joined the APC to contribute his quota to the development of the country.
