Tinubu to make final decision on new minimum wage Thursday

President Bola Tinubu may make a final decision regarding the new minimum wage on Thursday of this week, according to information released by Mohammed Idris, Minister of Information and National Orientation.

He stated that the President will meet with organised labour on Thursday and will then determine the amount to be sent to the National Assembly.

Idris stated that the Federal Executive Council would be inviting organised Labour to a meeting this week after debating the national minimum wage.

According to him, the President is not opposed to raising the federal minimum wage, but he is exercising caution to avoid sending the nation into an unthinkable spiral of inflation.
