Arsenal have reportedly opted to end Takehiro Tomiyasu’s contract ahead of schedule.
The Japanese international hasn’t featured for the club since October 2024.
After undergoing knee surgery in February, he is not expected to return to action until late 2025.
While his current contract was set to run until next summer, talks have been held regarding an early exit.
According to reports from the Daily Mail, both parties have come to a mutual understanding, with an official statement anticipated shortly.
Tomiyasu joined the North London side from Serie A club Bologna in August 2021 for a fee just under £20 million.
However, his time at Arsenal has been plagued by recurring injury setbacks.
In the previous campaign, he played only once a six-minute cameo off the bench in a match against Southampton last October.
