James Rodriguez, the captain of Colombia, has had his contract with Rayo Vallecano terminated.
The January transfer window is still open, and Rodriguez is now a free agent. Fabrizio Romano, a football transfer specialist, made this public on Monday in a post from his X account.
“Confirmed: James Rodriguez is now available as free agent, contract terminated at Rayo Vallecano,” Romano tweeted.
Following that Rodriguez only joined Rayo Vallecano last summer transfer on a one-year deal with an option for further year as a free agent.
His contract with the club was supposed to expire in the summer of 2025.
