After Barcelona defeated Real Madrid in the Spanish Super Cup over the weekend, attacker Robert Lewandowski encouraged colleague Ronald Araujo to stay with the team.

During the January transfer window, Araujo has been connected to both Juventus and Arsenal.

There are only eighteen months left on the Uruguayan defender’s current Barcelona deal.

Lewandowski, though, wants Araujo to stay at Barcelona after this month.

“Ronald… you have to stay,” Lewandowski told Araujo, according to Spanish football show El Dia Despues.

“You are staying, you are staying now, new contract.

“You can play around at the end of the season.

“It’s better for you to play now. You play here.”
