Following confirmation of his exit from Real Madrid, Luka Modrić is expected to join AC Milan during the upcoming summer transfer window.
The veteran Croatian midfielder is currently competing in the Club World Cup, which is taking place in the United States, as part of the LaLiga club’s squad.
Once the tournament concludes, Modrić is anticipated to put pen to paper on a deal with Milan, marking the end of a remarkable and decorated chapter in Spanish football.
“We are ready to bring in Luka Modrić, we need new leaders,” AC Milan director, Igli Tare, said.
“Modrić can be a key player for us and he asked about being competitive, winning titles… we are on it.”
Modrić, who clinched the Ballon d’Or in 2018, departs the Santiago Bernabéu after a trophy-laden tenure that includes six UEFA Champions League titles.
