Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak has been left out of the squad traveling for their pre-season tour.
Despite ongoing rumors linking the Swedish international with a potential transfer, the club has dismissed suggestions that his absence is related to any transfer activity.
The update was shared by renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano via X on Thursday morning.
Romano stated: “Alexander Isak has not traveled with Newcastle to Singapore for pre-season tour.
Newcastle insist it’s not due to a transfer reason with the striker still nursing a minor thigh injury.”
Isak also missed the team’s 5-0 loss to Celtic last weekend and is now set to sit out of their upcoming friendly match against Arsenal, scheduled for Sunday in Singapore.
