Transfer: Onuachu closer to Trabzonspor return

Paul Onuachu is reportedly close to sealing a permanent move back to Turkish Super Lig side Trabzonspor.

The Nigerian forward is aiming to depart Southampton this summer on a full transfer, after the club’s relegation from the Premier League.

Talks are currently ongoing between Southampton and Trabzonspor regarding the terms of the move for the Super Eagles striker.

Onuachu previously played for Trabzonspor during the 2023/24 campaign, joining on a season-long loan.

He made a strong impact during his stint in Turkey, netting 15 goals in 21 league matches for the club, nicknamed the Black Sea Storm.

Last summer, Trabzonspor had expressed interest in securing him permanently but were unable to meet Southampton’s asking price at the time.
