Troops under Operation Hadin Kai, working in coordination with the Air Component, Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF), and local hunters, have successfully intercepted multiple terrorist collaborators and dismantled key logistics routes used by insurgents in the North-East region.

Between July 15 and 22, 2025, several individuals suspected of transporting communication gear, illegal substances, explosives, and weapons-making materials to Boko Haram and ISWAP were taken into custody.

This information was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by Major General Markus Kangye, Director of Defence Media Operations.

Among the key arrests was that of Mallam Aminu Idris, who was apprehended on July 19 at a checkpoint along the Kano–Maiduguri highway. He was found with unauthorized Starlink communication devices, which authorities believe were intended for delivery to terrorist groups.

Earlier, on July 15, troops from the 114 Battalion operating in Madagali LGA, Adamawa State, intercepted a load of supplies suspected to be meant for insurgents. Items confiscated included four motorcycles, soft drinks, two bags of cement, and assorted food items.

Another major operation took place on July 16, when seven individuals believed to be part of a logistics network for insurgents were arrested while transporting a significant volume of supplies.

In addition to arrests, frontline forces recorded notable battlefield success. On July 17, troops from the 82 Division Task Force Battalion clashed with insurgents during patrols around Amuda and Chinene in Gwoza LGA, Borno State. One terrorist was neutralized, while others retreated.

The following night, on July 18, a unit from the 27 Task Force Brigade carried out a well-coordinated ambush along the Lambawa–Kalari axis in Kaga LGA. One terrorist was killed, and weapons and spare parts were recovered.

On July 20, troops discovered a stash of bomb-making components near Takaskala in Madagali LGA. That same day, forces also thwarted an attempted breach in Monguno, recovering RPGs, ammunition, and other military gear.

In a separate incident on July 21, ten relatives of known insurgents surrendered to troops in Bama LGA, Borno State. Early findings indicated they had escaped from Gashua village seeking refuge.

Another significant operation occurred on July 22, when security personnel intercepted a truck transporting supplies from Maiduguri to Gamboru. The vehicle was loaded with a 12V 220AH solar battery, 16 solar panels, three 2000W inverters, an inverter controller, electrical cables, 100 gear regulators, two cartons of 60 gas carburetors, refrigerators, and food supplies.

Several suspected collaborators and informants, including a 15-year-old accused of surveillance activities for terrorist groups, were also arrested through intelligence-driven missions.

Major General Kangye emphasized that these intensified military actions have severely disrupted terrorist logistics, weakening the operational strength of armed groups in the region.
