In the history of the UEFA Champions League, at least five teams have come back from a deficit of three or more goals in knockout matches.
These teams are Deportivo de La Coruña, Barcelona, Roma, Liverpool, and Sporting CP.
The latest team to come back from a three-goal deficit in a UEFA Champions League knockout match is Sporting CP.
On Tuesday, the Portuguese club won 5-0 against Bodø/Glimt in a Round of 16 second leg, securing their place in the quarter-finals.
Last week, Sporting suffered a 3-0 defeat in the first leg against the Norwegian club.
As reported by OptaJoe, the other teams that have come back from a three-goal deficit or more in the Champions League include Deportivo de La Coruña against Milan in the 2003-04 quarter-finals, Barcelona against PSG in the 2016-17 Round of 16, Roma against Barcelona in the 2017-18 quarter-finals, Liverpool against Barcelona in the 2018-19 semi-finals, and now Sporting CP against Bodø/Glimt in the Round of 16.
