According to reports, a Nigerian man in the UK was imprisoned for turning down a colleague’s love attempts since he was married.

He was arrested after the woman allegedly responded by falsely accusing him of rape.

When this startling tale first appeared on X (previously Twitter), it immediately became popular.

The man claims that he observed a female coworker attempting to turn their acquaintance into a sexual partnership. He was married, though, and made it plain that he wasn’t interested.

The woman allegedly falsely reported to their manager that he had raped her because she couldn’t take his rejection.

In December, they were both suspended from their jobs.

When the woman repeated the rape accusation in a video statement she gave to the police last month, the situation became more serious. The man was consequently taken into custody but subsequently freed on bail while additional investigation was conducted.

A third source put the man’s remark on X, sharing his ordeal:

“Hello everyone, I have an issue concerning a false allegation made by a white colleague at work. She was pushing our friendship toward a relationship, but since I’m married, I distanced myself. She then went to our manager and falsely accused me of rape, leading to both of us being suspended since December.”

“Last month, she made a video statement to the police, repeating the same claim, which led to my arrest. I was later released on bail pending investigation and told to report back at a later date.”

“Does anyone know what I can do? My employer is the same company that sponsored my Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS), which I used to bring my family over. I need advice on how to clear my name from this police case.”
