The University of Lagos has addressed concerns over the delay of NELFund loan reimbursement to students who paid their obligatory fees before the university received the loan. According to the institution’s Head of Communication Unit, Mrs. Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, refunds are processed after reconciliation and verification with NELFund.
“We have received three tranches of NELFund loans, and beneficiaries across the first two batches have been successfully reimbursed,” Alaga-Ibraheem stated. “For the third batch, which was received towards the end of April, we are currently collating and reconciling students’ payment details.
Alaga-Ibraheem assured students that refunds would be processed according to regulations, emphasising the university’s commitment to transparency, accountability, and student-centred service delivery.
“The university management remains committed to its core values… We implore our students to take advantage of the NELFund loan facility and contact the NELFund help desk at our Student Affairs Division for prompt assistance and resolution on any complaint,” she said.
The university encourages students to reach out to the designated help desk for support and resolution of any issues related to the NELFund loan
