A University of Ilorin mathematics student, Kazeem Sanusi, has set a new Guinness World Record for the ‘Longest Mathematics Lesson’, lecturing for 31 hours, 42 minutes, and 54 seconds non-stop. He smashed the previous record of 26 hours, impressing a captivated audience led by the University Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Egbewole, SAN
The event was witnessed by representatives of Guinness World Record and notable university officials, including the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Management Services), Prof. Adegboyega Fawole; the Registrar, Mr Mansur Alfanla; and the Dean of Physical Sciences, Prof. Abdullahi Alafara Baba
According to the university spokesperson, Kunle Akogun, “He is now eagerly awaiting official confirmation from Guinness World Records.” Prof. Egbewole expressed the university’s pride in Kazeem’s achievement, saying, “We are immensely proud of the feat of Kazeem, and we will continue to encourage others to find their passion and pursue it.”
Egbewole added that the university hopes to inspire others to break records, stating, “Others would be inspired by Kazeem’s feat to also break all ceilings and continue to write the name of the university in gold.” The university community is abuzz with excitement over Kazeem’s remarkable achievement, eagerly awaiting official confirmation from Guinness World Records.
