US election: Why Kamala Harris won’t speak to supporters now – Campaign co-chair

As her chances of winning the presidency dwindled, Kamala Harris’s campaign has stated that the vice president will not speak to supporters on election night.

“We still have votes to count. We still have states that have not been called yet,’’ Harris campaign co-chair Cedric Richmond said in the early hours of Wednesday.

“We will continue overnight to fight to make sure that every vote is counted.

“That every voice has spoken. So you won’t hear from the vice president tonight. But you will hear from her tomorrow,’’ he added.

With the polling places closed, Donald Trump, the Republican presidential candidate, is on his way to winning.

Although Trump has been called for in two key battleground states, the outcome of the presidential election has not yet been determined.

In a previous speech, Trump thanked his fans for their support both during and after the campaign.
