A $25,000 (N43 million) prize has been issued by the United States of America for anyone with information that could result in the arrest of Olalekan Abimbola Olawusi.

A Nigerian man named Olawusi, who lives in Rhode Island, the United States, is supposedly on trial for the suspected murder of his own kid.

The 48-year-old male was charged with two offences that border on first-degree murder by “inflicting bodily injury to a child and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution,” according to a statement released by Supervisory Deputy U.S. Marshal Don Freeman.

According to the statement, Olawusi is now listed on the U.S. Marshals Service’s list of the 15 Most Wanted fugitives.

“A man wanted in Rhode Island on charges of murder, inflicting serious bodily injury to a child and unlawful flight to avoid prosecution has been added to the U.S. Marshals Service 15 Most Wanted fugitives list with an up to $25,000 reward being offered for information leading to his arrest”, the statement said.

According to information obtained, the incident happened on April 3, 2017, when firefighters and police officers located and saved the gravely injured three-month-old kid.

However, the father, Olawusi, was arrested after it was found at the hospital that the child had sustained significant injuries in eighteen different regions of his body.

He was then arraigned on April 20, 2017, but he was released that same day while the trial was still ongoing, thus it was unclear where he was.
