Building Bright Futures in Williston, Vermont, has announced $2.9 million in grants through its Vermont Early Childhood Fund (VECF). The fourth and final round of funding includes $1.9 million for new projects and $1 million for existing grantees to support children aged 0-8, their families, and communities.
The grants will create over 180 early childhood care and education slots, improve access to healthy nutrition, expand early childhood literacy programs, enhance medical care through a doula residency program, and increase support for fathers of young children.
Recipients include:
– Burlington Children’s Space
– Wonder Roots
– Fox Hollow Forest School
– Southwestern Vermont Medical Center
– Vermont Consultation & Psychiatry Access Program
Established in 2021, VECF has increased its grantmaking from $105,000 in 2023 to $8 million between December 2023 and July 2025, thanks to support from the Sunflower Fund at the Vermont Community Foundation and federal programs
