Victor Boniface reveals why people think he’s rude

Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface has addressed the misconception that he is rude, which many people assume because of the savage memes he shares on social media.

It has been reported that Boniface faced criticism previously for his online posts.

During a recent episode of The Culture League podcast, the Bayer Leverkusen player clarified that he is not rude, explaining that his meme posts are simply a way for him to express himself.

He also pointed out that the lifestyle of professional footballers often limits their behavior compared to other professions, which contributes to the misunderstanding that they come across as unfriendly.

“People have a misconception that most football players are rude or prideful just because we don’t associate too much with other professions, so people think we are rude. No, we are not,” he said.

“The public want us to be like other celebrities but there are certain things entertainers can do that we can’t do. So, when we are not doing those things, they assume that we are rude.

“Me, for example, I post a lot of savage memes and people think I’m rude but I’m not. I would never insult anyone online until you say something offensive. Some of us have in-built craziness that people have to provoke out in us but I’m just calm. But if you bring it, we will give it to you,” the striker explained.
