VIDEO: Another Fulani herder threatens mass killing of Benue people if they touch his cows, kinsmen

Just a day after a Fulani herder vowed to kill 150 people in Benue State if they killed one of his cows in a widely shared video, another Fulani herder has threatened to kill Tiv people in large numbers if they hurt any Fulani person or animal going forward.

The herder is heard promising that if the people of Benue, or any other location for that matter, provoked the Fulani herdsmen, they would respond with violence and destruction in a video that has since gone viral.

The herder repeatedly accused Tiv villages of attempting to expel Fulani people from the state in the unsettling video footage posted on social media on Tuesday, and he issued a warning that such behavior would not be accepted.

“Hello Tiv, if you do not stop, we will chop you peoples’ father,” a local parlance which translates to mean that there will be massive destruction.

“You are saying you will drive us away from Benue State. It is a lie.

“What starts from Kadarko, Balaki Daudu to Utese, we will condemn you all if you don’t stop tormenting us,” he declared.

The individual expressly stated that only Tiv people will be targeted and threatened to attack cars with the “Benue” designation.

“We see your cars passing with inscriptions ‘Benue, Benue’… we will check and kill only Tiv people.”

When he was the governor from 2015 to 2023, he issued an anti-open grazing law that prohibited herders from wandering freely with their cattle around the state. He blamed former Governor Samuel Ortom for the crisis that has persisted in unsettling the state.

“Ortom, you are the one that cause all the chaos… although we heard the current government is trying its best… Ortom, you are the one that causes everything that is happening now.”

The Fulani man went on to warn that the next attack would be even deadlier than the last.

“The last time we struck, Tinubu came to sympathise with you and was smiling. The next time you kill our people or cow, we will kill until Tinubu cries with his two eyes.”
