A video of a Nigerian police officer making hostile and threatening comments to civilians went viral online, sparking popular indignation.

The disturbing video, which is presently trending on X (previously Twitter), has sparked new questions over the conduct and professionalism of the Nigeria Police Force.

The cop in the video, who is holding a phone and addressing the camera directly, gives viewers a threatening warning to exercise caution while interacting with him. There were unsettling threats in his comments.

“If you’re not careful, I’ll clear your fathers. I’ll clear your loud. Is that clear? If you do anyhow, I’ll checkmate you. I’ll finger-f*** your father’s head,” he said.

Then, as he rotated the camera, he saw a number of his coworkers watching nonchalantly, none of them showing signs of concern or disapproval.
