A content creator and thrift vendor based in Lagos, widely recognized as Fems Thrift, has claimed that she and a friend were victims of sexual assault after being misled into attending an event that was advertised as a modeling job in the Ajao Estate area of Lagos State.

The survivor accused in a video posted on her TikTok account, mentioning that the event took place on Friday, February 8.

As she stated, a man reached out to her on Instagram, asserting that he had recently come back from the UK to set up an international fashion brand in Nigeria.

She stated that the person proposed a payment of N140,000 for the modelling task and asked her to promote the brand on her social media accounts as well.

It has been reported that the first contact occurred on February 1, and she accepted the job after receiving assurances that a complete production team, including a make-up artist, would be present during the shoot.

Fems clarified that her friend came with her to the site for safety reasons.

“My friend was already with me, so she accompanied me for safety,” she said.

As per her account, they showed up at the apartment around 11 a.m. on the date they had agreed upon but discovered that the space was mostly empty.

It is said that the man informed them that the site was a content creation studio and asserted that the make-up artist had stepped out for a moment.

Additionally, she claimed that the suspect requested she shower for filming preparation and offered her a robe to change into.

It is reported that the man entered the room after she complied, pretending to show how to lock the door before other crew members arrived.

She claimed that the situation intensified when the man locked the door and threatened both women, compelling them to meet his demands.

She also asserted that their cell phones were confiscated and that they were forced to open private folders, with claims that personal data was transferred to the suspect.

She stated that the man had threatened to publish the materials online if they reported the incident or made any public statements about it.

“He threatened me with my internet presence, saying if I spoke up, he would release my private videos now and in the future,” she added.

As reported, the victims exited the apartment on the same day between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

Since then, the video has sparked a broad array of responses on social media, where numerous users have demanded that authorities arrest the suspect without delay and called for probes into the claims. Photos claimed to depict the suspected offender have also been shared online.

In response to contact made on Wednesday, Abimbola Adebisi, the Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer, stated that as of February 11, 2026, no formal complaint had been submitted.

She noted that work was continuing to contact the complainant so that an investigation could begin.
