A Nigerian bride defiantly insisted on the contemporary music of the master of ceremonies, known locally as Alaga Iduro, rather than dancing into the wedding venue to the tunes of the traditional band.
In an online video, the bride defied her family’s attempts to persuade her to allow the traditional band to usher her into the wedding hall.
The bride kept going back to the hall’s entrance until her wish was granted; the Alaga added dance and modernity to give her traditional wedding ceremony a lively touch.
The ceremony master @oppyalaga shared a video of the bride standing by her decision regarding the order of her wedding ceremony along with an explanation of the reason for the argument.
The video captioned, “Bride was supposed to be ushered in by the Alága in the first session, after which she’ll change to her Owo outfit and the traditional band will usher in…. Like that like that Nah so band people refused that they’ll be the one to usher her in right from the first outfit (in my mind, sebi den share this thing give all of us nahhhhh). Well, as a peace maker that I am, I decided to give in (Sebi when she sha gets to the front they will release her and I will do my thing). Lo and behold, immediately the bride heard, story changed ooooo”.
