A disturbing incident has unfolded at the Ogun State Institute of Technology, Igbesa, where a female student was brutally beaten by her peers over allegations of boyfriend snatching. A viral video showed several female students flogging the victim with thick canes, leaving her with visible injuries on her back and head.

The attackers, seemingly unfazed, claimed their mothers were aware of their actions and didn’t care who the victim reported the case to. Despite pleas from some students to stop the assault, one of the attackers, Lolade, refused, stating that the beating was meant to teach the victim a lesson.

The Ogun State Police Command has launched an investigation, with the Igbesa Divisional Police Officer taking charge of the case. “The Ogun State Police Command is on top of the situation, and the DPO Igbesa has taken charge of the case,” the command posted on X. The incident has raised concerns about student safety and the need for swift action against those responsible.
