Terrorists ambushed troops en route to rescue abducted schoolgirls in Kebbi State, injuring many soldiers.
Only twenty-four hours had passed since Lieutenant General Waidi Shaibu, the Chief of Army Staff (COAS), ordered the troops of Operation Fasan Yamma to go “all out” against the bandits who had kidnapped pupils from Government Girls Secondary School, Maga.
“You must continue day and night fighting. We must find these children,” Shaibu has ordered.
He also gave commanders instructions on how to use intelligence for intelligence-based operations, stressing: “Once you receive information on something like this, act professionally and decisively. This is not just about our image; it is about doing our job properly.”
Until all kidnapped students are securely retrieved and reunited with their families, troops were instructed to continue operations around-the-clock.
The soldiers complied and mobilized for the rescue effort, but terrorists ambushed them.
Several wounded soldiers are shown lying helplessly without receiving emergency medical assistance in video footage that ZINGTIE was able to get.
One of the victims was heard speaking in Hausa language: “Musa has a bullet lodged in his leg. He is in extremely poor health.
During the assault, the troops’ operational vehicle was also filled with bullet holes.
