Mother of two Rhoda has described how her husband severed her hands when she asked him where he had been the night before and he came home in the morning.

Rhoda says that she attended a polytechnic for three years after finishing her elementary schooling. After relocating to a new city, she met her spouse and they began living together. Later on, they were fortunate to have two kids.

Her husband left for work one day as normal, but he never came home that evening. Rhoda challenged him about his whereabouts when he eventually returned in the morning. He made up the story that he had been working all night. Rhoda was so angry that she told him she would go back to her parents’ place.

Her husband left for work as normal the next morning. But he sent their firstborn child to the store when he came back in the evening. At that point, he grabbed a machete and began assaulting Rhoda, slicing her skull several times and chopping off her hands before abandoning her inside their home. Her son discovered her bleeding when he got back and asked for assistance right away. She was taken to the hospital in a hurry.

Given the extent of her injuries, doctors were skeptical that she would live. After undergoing treatment for three months, she was eventually released from the hospital.

Rhoda went to live with her parents after she recovered. She later moved once more and lived with her sister, where she began earning a living by selling used clothing. She claims that her spouse was ultimately taken into custody and given a life sentence.
