The Onelga Security Peace Advisory Committee (OSPAC), a vigilante organization, has given non-native doctors in Rivers State’s Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni local government areas a seven-day ultimatum to depart.

In Rivers State, Onelga, as it is well known, is a significant local government area that produces gas and oil. It is bordered by the states of Imo, Delta, and Anambra.

Following Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s crackdown on phony native doctors, it was learned that a large number of people, primarily native doctors, had moved into the LGA from the South-East geopolitical zone of the nation, particularly Anambra State.

Speaking at a sensitization exercise in Omoku Town at the weekend, the OSPAC secretary-general, Eze Ohia stated that the local security agency had received allegations that certain indigenous doctors were keeping fetish objects in their houses.

He cautioned landlords against providing shelter to non-native doctors, saying that if they don’t leave the region within seven days, the community and vigilante group will have to deal with them.

Ohia said, “All the native doctors, all the people who are not from Omoku; you are from the East, but they chased you away. One room is full of charms, and over 30 people live inside.”

“All the people who have brought juju into Omoku and ONELGA have seven days to leave this town. If we catch you after seven days, you will have it rough with OSPAC and the community.

“All the landlords who rented their houses to these people should go and tell them that they have just seven days to leave Omoku. You cannot stay in our community and will be bringing juju into the community.

“At the expiration of the seven days, we will be moving from house to house to search for them. Anywhere we catch such people, the landlord will also be in trouble.”
