Vitafoam Nigeria Plc has reaffirmed it’s commitment to supporting mothers and childcare in Nigeria. As part of it’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative, the company presented gifts to the first baby of the year at the Lagos Island Maternity Hospital, Lagos.

Commercial Director, Vitafoam Nigeria, Alhaji Dahiru Gambo, led the team that presented the gifts, which included mattresses, baby cots, pillows, and other household items. Gambo stated that the gesture was a way of giving back to society. “We consider this a form of CSR. It is our own little way of giving back to the community and also promoting our brand,” he said.

Gambo revealed that this CSR initiative has been running for five decades, demonstrating the company’s long-standing commitment to supporting the nation’s healthcare. He advised the parents of the newborn to plan adequately for the child’s future and ensure they reach their full potential in life.

The Vitafoam team was welcomed by the staff and management of the Lagos Island Maternity, led by the Chief Medical Director, Dr. Olufemi Omololu, and his deputy, Dr. Simon Bazuaye. Apex Nurse, Mrs. Oluwatoyin Champion, Head of Admin and Human Resources, Mrs. Kudirat Saliu, and others commended Vitafoam’s board and management for the good gesture, describing it as worthwhile.

Dr. Omololu expressed his profound gratitude to Vitafoam, saying, “It was heartening to note that Vitafoam usually comes to add a lot of pomp and color to the first baby-of-year celebration. We commend the company for this CSR and would like to encourage the management and staff of Vitafoam and indeed everybody to continue to have that spirit of giving because when we do that things will get better for us. We must all continue to help one another for continuous development.

Mrs. Champion had earlier announced the arrival of the first baby of the year, a male child, who was delivered at 12:37 am, weighing 4.6 kg. “He is an active baby doing so well,” she said.

The presentation of gifts by Vitafoam Nigeria Plc was a highlight of the celebration, which was attended by staff and management of the hospital, as well as other dignitaries.

Vitafoam’s National Sales Manager, Olujide Peters, Brand Manager, Kofoworola Giwa, and other staff members were part of the team that presented the gifts.

The company’s gesture was widely appreciated by the hospital staff, the parents of the newborn, and other stakeholders. It was seen as a demonstration of Vitafoam’s commitment to giving back to society and supporting the well-being of mothers and children.

The parents of the newborn, Rafiu Suleiman and his wife, Rashidat, were effusive with praises for Vitafoam’s kind gestures. The couple, who have four children, expressed gratitude for the generous gifts and donations to their baby.
