WAFU Women’s Champions League: Bayelsa Queens tackle Police Ladies in opening fixture

Reigning Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) champions, Bayelsa Queens, are set to kick off their campaign in the 2025 WAFU B Women’s Champions League with a clash against Ghana’s Police Ladies.

The tournament schedule for this year’s edition was unveiled by the organizers on Saturday.

Bayelsa Queens’ opening match will take place on Saturday, December 23, at Yamoussoukro in Côte d’Ivoire.

Host club Asec Mimosas will begin the tournament with a match against AS Garde from Niger Republic.

In Group B, Bayelsa Queens are drawn alongside AS ASKO and Sam Nelly, both from Benin Republic, in addition to Police Ladies.

The regional championship will run from Saturday, August 23 to Saturday, December 5, 2025.

The team that emerges as champion will secure a spot in the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League, joining seven other qualifiers.
